And so do in this movie. He acts as a 17 years old student of Islamic School in Java. In this movie, Nico played his role naturally, no wonder that he also got the nominee as The Best Leading Actor in Indonesia Film Festival 2008 trough this film also. This movie is the third time Nico play with his "filmmate" Dian Sastrowardoyo after "Ada Apa Dengan Cinta" and "Drupadi". 3 Doa 3 Cinta also gets the nominee as The Most Favourite Movie in IMA 2009.

• Ario Bayu

Eventough he just appear in the last two scene of "Laskar Pelangi", but his acting in this film make him get The Best Supporting Actor in IMA 2009. the Film itself, get 14 nominees in this event (including The Most Favourite Movie, The Best Leading Actor and The Beast Leading Actress). Ario act as the mature Lintang (The boy who didn't finish his school because of his father's dead) the best friend of Ichal. With a dirty and calm outlook, Ario succeed to act as a poor person, and he also has a big change to win The Best Supporting Actor title in IMA 2009. Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Troops) itself, also got the nominee for The Best Film in Asian Film Festival.

Femina Series : Dian Sastrowardoyo

After Fahrani Empel, now we present Dian Sastrowardoyo for the second articles of Femina Series.

Dian, on the top of boring point..

Dian refuses to act in horror and comedy, but she is so excited trying to act as a dangdut singer.

Not many actresses who are in the same age with Dian Sastrowardoyo (27) that succeed in a lot of film festival. Through the film Pasir Berbisik, for example, Dian brought home two titles as The Best Actress in the same time. First at 2001 Asia Deauville Film Festival in France, and then at Singapore International Film Festival (2002). But, not many people know that actually Dian is boring to run her career in entertainment right now.

Dian was met by femina when she was enjoying a plate of rice and lemon grass beef in the restaurant at Mega Kuningan. Sometimes, a smooth perfume smelled from her body. “This is TOFA perfume that I bought from US, the price is just $30. The smell is smooth like baby powder, and the most important is, not many people use it.” Dian said with smile.

SINGING DANGDUT

Since long time ago, Dian was already known as a selective actress when choosing her character in film. After long time absent from big screen, Dian came back in 3 Wishes 3 Loves, a film by Nurman Hakim.

Why do you interest to be a dangdut singer?

I feel challenged. I never offered the character like this before. Usually, it’s just about a woman from middle class level. So, when I was offered, without long thinking, I shouted, “I want!”

How do you practice your dangdut voice?

I did an observation. Beside learning the real singer’s performance, I was also had a special training with a dangdut singer.

What is the interesting from this movie?

I like it because its mission is to show to the world that Islam is a religion with a lot of love and peace.

So, that’s the reason why you came back in acting?

My decision to receive this film is because of the message that is want to shown by this film. Among of many offers that I receive last year, I think this is the only one movie that interests me. I have a lot offers, comedy or even being a ghost in horror film. But I don’t like it. I don’t want to act just because of existence.

But, you acted in Drupadi last year, didn’t you?

That was different. Drupadi was an idealism film which the idea was came from me, so that I also became the producer. The difference, because of limited budget, we only can produce Drupadi as a short movie.

NEVER ‘LONELY’ LOVE STORY

Every news from Dian Sastrowardoyo always be a ‘delicious food’ for infotainment media. When she is asked about boyfriend at this time, Dian just whispered to femina to turn off the tape recorder. “It is off the record,” said Dian with loud of laugh.

Why don’t you open about your boyfriend right now?

Based on previous experience, the effect was not good for me and my boyfriend if our relationship is exposed exaggeratedly. Sometimes, the medias like to add some fake exaggerated stories. He is my dream man.

It seems very hard for you to find your dream man, aren’t you?

(Laughing). Until now, I don’t have any criteria about my dream man. There was no any similar among all of my ex boyfriend, whether from face, mind set, attitude, or material.

It seems to be you don’t like to be alone, don’t you?

Yup, actually I need a time to be alone and pass the understanding faze for myself. How can I understand my dream man if don’t understand myself? Unfortunately, if I find a kind guy, it’s hard for me to refuse him.

Do you have any plan to continue your study abroad?

It is my dream since I was child. Actually I wanted to do that when I take bachelor degree, but it was canceled because me and my mom’s saving is just enough for a year life cost. Study abroad is not for prestige. I just feel that it’s a part of my horizon. Mom studied in Netherland and dad was in US.

So, when will you go?

I am still collecting money. After I count it, I need a lot of budget for life and study there. Actually I want scholarship but I think it’s impossible. I was refused because of people think that my name is too high profile. Willy nilly, I will go next year. If I have to sell my new house, I will do it.

Wow, you already have your own house, haven’t you?

Yup. I am diligent to invest my money. When the first time I was hired, I bought an apartment and now it is rented. That is my philosophy about money. In entertainment, when you get money, the amount will be so big. If you are not smart enough to save, you will spend it for the things that you don’t know and you will regret it. It’s not funny if your hard work just become bag, clothes and shoes.

BEING ACTRESS IS NOT A PASSION

Not only well known as multi talented artist, Dian also gets a special place in her fans’ hearts, because of her hard working in academic. No wonder, a lot of ‘door’ to a lot of career choices are opened widely for her. Dian is looking for a new place to work, she doesn’t mind if she has to start again from zero.

Beside act for a lot of different character, do you have any other obsession in acting?

Honestly, the first time I come for acting was because of ‘accident’. Actually I prefer to direct or write a scenario. My passion is not acting. Unfortunately I was claimed as an actress too fast. Nut, because of this is a job that can earn a lot of money, I just do it.

Why don’t you just study about film production process?

I am disappointed with the films right now. So, why I have to stand on my idealism to make a film? Sometimes, there are great films, but after that they come back again to the film that very similar with a soap opera.

If you don’t act, so what will you do?

Maybe I will propose to a company, whatever the position. Maybe I will join to NGO (Non Governmental Organization) also. Who know that my soul is over there.

Entertainment is a promising money source, isn’t it?

Yup. but, my studying process in it is already finish. I earn money because of image, not because of my brain. It is very far from my expectation. Honestly, I am bored in front of camera. I am in quarter life crisis right now. I am on the crossroad about my future.

How about your academic career? You had ever been a lecturer assistant, hadn’t you?

Ha…ha…ha… This one is embarrassing. Honestly, I’m very hard to get up early, so I often late to come to the class. Another problem is, as a lecturer assistant, I just work for two hours at Monday. So, the rest four days? I need a work from Monday until Friday.

If you want to change your job, don’t you mind to start again from zero?

No problem. I wonder because my condition is too comfortable right now. Propose to a company, I was offered a high position because of I’m famous. So strange, I don’t even have any experience in that division. So that, beside study, I also want to work abroad, the place where I can be Dian myself. Basically I’m a hard worker.

If you work hard then you’ll get stress?

I’m not afraid of stress, because basically I’m an ignorant woman. But it doesn’t mean that I’m never sad. Do you want to know my philosophy and my special recipe to fix the pressure? Singing and dancing alone at my room like the Indian movie. Eventough it sounds ridiculous, it helps so much. after that my feeling will be so happy.

You often perform with simple style, don’t you?

Yup, now I’m wearing ‘bego’ trousers. Or only wear jeans, t-shirt and flip – flop. But, because of I have a wide hip, I won’t wear too tight t-shirt.

But you still take care your body, don’t you?

Of course. I feel comfort if I am clean and fresh. When I take a bath, I use Lux macademia mosturising whipped cream liquid soap. The smell is so good, so caramel, different from ordinary liquid soap. Just with take a bath and smell it, I’ll feel relax and fresh.

Although Luna Maya is busy to take shot for Music Chart show in one of the TV channel everyday, this woman who was born in August 26th 1983 wanted to be ‘kidnapped’ by CC to cover photo session. We think, Luna will weak because of tired – but she is not! This beautiful lady was so excited to response CC interview.



TO THE LIMIT!
“Although a lot of people know me right now, I don’t mine if I start again from the beginning. For example when I receive a job to become the host of Dahsyat!. People ask about my decision at that time because they think that show is not ‘classy’. But I want to improve my ability until the limit that people think am not able.
“After few month in Dahsyat!, I found a new family and friends. Olga and Raffi are not just my friends in front of the screen, but also behind the screen. It’s not including my interview with Hillary Clinton. Maybe I won’t get those experience if I’m not in Dahsyat!.
“I also trust my intuition. All of works and businesses that I done are usually based on feeling. Another example when I became the model for ST12 Music Video. The band is getting bigger, isn’t it?”


CAFÉ + CLOTHING LINE + BARBER SHOP
“Beside look for money in entertainment, I also interest in business as my future investment. I have two cafés in Bandung, my own clothing line, and last is barber shop at Kemang. For clothing line, in the future, I want the stuff is more different than before, not only jeans and t-shirt.
“Now, I have a plan to start a business that correlated with education in Bali. I choose Bali because my friend ask me. I think it would be nice if I have something in my own ‘house’ – I am from Bali.”


CARE TO THE ENVIRONMENT
“I like to join the social activity. I’m still active campaigning as the ambassador of World Food Programme. For me, this kind of activity is fun eventough I don’t get any material. The satisfaction is different. Eventough I don’t do much, at least I feel something and don’t just think about myself.
“I also worry about the environment problem. As long as I can, I won’t eat in the restaurant that use plate or saucer from paper. I think it’s just throwing paper.
“Another real activity, I use like plant supplement for my car. With that oil, I don’t just decrease the emission, but also decrease my fuel until 30%. Usually when I fill my fuel it can survive until three days, now it can until survive ubtil four days.”


LUNA’S BEAUTIFUL HAIR’S SECRET
“I am a person who don’t really care about my performance. I also seldom go to the barber shop. If I have spare time, I prefer to relax at home than barber shop.
“Because I seldom go to the barber shop, I do my hair treatment at home. I choose shampoo and conditioner that can make my hair smooth and fabulous without extra attention. I just wash my hair twice a continued with conditioner. But the result is really smooth when I touch it, fabulous and make me confident to run the activities. But when I feel dirty, I can do it every day. Beside that, I like to buy masker, serum, or hair conditioner to extension hair treatment.”

Fahrani, never worried..

Although had ever failed in business, even had been divorced in young age, Fa always enjoys to run her life..

Failures are had been undergone by Fahrani Pawaka Empel (24). But, all of that do not make this girl who is usually called Fa become trauma. Succeed and Failure in her life make her more ready to face all of problems that happen.

When she met femina in the middle of her business, this woman who was born in Jakarta, September 27^th 1984, tell honestly about her career and love. Unpredicted, this tomboy woman has a lot of amazing plans in her life.

BETWEEN MODELLING AND ACTING

Has a tall body and brown skin, with the high experience of modeling. The amazing fashion shows in Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, until fashion week in Milan had been passed by her. No wonder if this woman who start modeling at the age of 13, become one of the modeling The Most Outstanding Model in Jakarta Fashion Minute book.

Her career in acting is also amazing. Her acting can be seen in the film by Aria Kusumadewa, Novel Tanpa Huruf R (2004), and Joko Anwar’s film, Kala (2007). Her latest film Radit dan Jani (2007) made her become The Best Leading Actress in Indonesia Film Festival 2008.

Your career in modeling is very amazing, so what do you look in acting?

Experience. Since my first film, I have to choose my character smartly. I want to act the unique character, not just an ordinary one. I try to do not choose stereotype character, for example a kind lady.

Planning to make as the new career?

I am really excited to act a lot of character. Few times ago, I became the guest star in one of the comedy show in one of the TV channel. Last year, I also ever tried to cat in Hollywood. Eventough I failed, I will try again when I have the opportunity. I do all of that because of I‘m happy.

Still want to work in modeling?

Yeah, although I live in Bali, if there is a job for fashion show or photo session in Jakarta or abroad, I will take that job if it’s possible.

Which one is become your priority?

Nothing. Both of them are interesting and important for me. But, right now modeling job is more than acting. But, I will start to take my first shot in my new film after the election. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you the story and the character that I will act. So, Just wait!

WANTS TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR

Beside modeling and acting, Fa also ever had a business. Unfortunately, shoes business that that she established in Bali with a unique name, Partner in Crime, now stopped for a while. Fa hopes her exclusive shoes design will be produced again if there is an investor. Her business willingness is not just about shoes, she even plan to add the other business.

Why do you interest in business?

I have a lot of idea in my mind. When there is chance, I try to make it real one by one. Just like when the first time I start my shoes business. I do like drawing and designing something, like shoes. Finally, I and my friend work together to establish this business. Now, my business is stopped for a while, but not collapse.

So, there is still another business idea?

Right now, I am preparing to open the modeling agency. At first I was just help my friend to run this business. But, she resign meanwhile I’m on fire to run it. If there is no problem this April it will open, the name is Lighting Models.

Don’t you afraid to compete with another modeling agency that have had big names?

Why I must afraid? My modeling agency has the uniqueness than the others. My models can be said as different. Most of my models has a unique performances and characters, exotic and edgy. Right now, not only models with beautiful face who are looked for, but also models with unique character. So, I am optimist!

What is your guideline in business?

I don’t really think about money about money that I earned when the beginning of the business. Because if I keep thinking about money that I get, I will be hard to move. For me, the most important thing is run my work with all my heart first. About gain, number two. If it’s not success, just try again. So, enjoy it!

DO NOT REGRET FOR DIVORCE IN THE YOUNG AGE

Fa’s career is really colourful. But, who know that this oldest daughter of Frans Empel and Vonny Rahayu Pawaka had ever failed to run marriage in the very young age, 19 years old. Fa was married with the man from New Zealand at that time. But her marriage just exist for two and half years.

Are you trauma for marriage?

No. for me it’s one of the faze of my life. I don’t regret, and of course I’m not trauma. I was very young, I really wanted to have a baby and respect my family with having a couple. Finally, I learned from that experience. My family also understands if I want to have a child, although without having husband.

Now, do you have special friend?

Nowadays, I am dating with a guy from Australia. He is a professional surfer. Our relationship have been runned for one years. Of course there is plan to get married. But not in this year. And, one thing for sure, our plan to get married just because of we want to get married. Not because of other reason or family.

It seems to be your idol guy is a foreigner, isn’t it?

It’s just unconsciously. Most of my boyfriends are foreigners. But I think Indonesian guys are intimidated with me. Seeing my lifestyle, maybe will make them surprise. Honestly, I am a free person. Beside having a sense of humor, my dream man is a man who wants to receive whatever I am. One of them is doesn’t matter with my tattoos.

You seems to be never regret and never worry, don’t you?

Life is just once. I try to enjoy life. If there is a spare time, I will have fun. Riding motorcycle around Bali, sunbathing in the beach or playing with dogs.

12th Annual Night Panasonic Awards 2009

12^th Panasonic Award, the most prestigious award for Indonesian television industry had been celebrated at Friday, March 27^th 2009!!!

The show was hosted by our treasures Raffi Ahmad and Olga Syahputra. Firstly, The show was opened by one of our treasure, Raffi Ahmad who was look so handsome in his outfit, after presenting the shows that is popular in some channel like Dunia Dalam Berita – TVRI and Termehek-mehek – Trans TV and after that Olga Syahputra come in front of the stage to accompany Raffi. In the middle of Dahsyat – RCTI presentation, Raffi Ahmad and Olga Syahputra ask Luna Maya to come to the stage and join with them to host the show for some minutes.

Indonesian vice president Mr. H. Jusuf Kalla and his wife Mrs. Hj. Mufidah Kalla also attended the annual celebration at that night. A lot of musicians, bands, and singers also entertained the audiences and the viewers at that night. Vidi Alviano, Joeniar Arief, Afgan Syahreza and Kamga Tangga were collaborate to sing a beautiful medley songs from their single with their golden voices. Beside them there were also Hijau Daun, Tangga, Bunga Citra Lestari, etc.

Olga Syahputra, maybe became the celebrity who got the centre of the attention at that historical night. Being a presenter is not enough for Olga. The first time he nominated in Panasonic Award, he got two categories in the same time. The first category is The Most Favourite Music/Variety Show Presenter (Compete with his best friends, two of our treasures, Raffi Ahmad and Luna Maya) and the second is The Most Favourite Comedian. Surprisingly Olga Syahputra won those two categories. When The Most Favourite Music/Variety Show Presenter announced and Olga’s name was mentioned as the winner, he cried and Luna and Raffi who are this rival for this category, helped him to come to the stage to deliver the winning speech. The winning speech was so funny and all of the audiences are laugh when Olga talked including Indonesian vice president and his wife.

Another surprise came from The Most Favourite Actress category. Our beloved treasure Luna Maya, who was become the nominee for this category was beated by Shireen Sunkar. This is so riddiculus because a lot of people said that Luna Maya will win and Luna Maya deserve to win. Luna Maya who looked so gorgeous with the golden gown at that night was keep smiling and she did not show the disappointed face because of her lost.

Some of Olga’s and Luna’s shows were also win in some categories like Luna’s show Extravaganza won as The Most Favourite Comedy Show and Olga’s show Gong show also won as The Most Favourite Quiz/Game Show.

This year annual night was more spectacular and more prepared well than the previous year. The stage was dominated with purple colour and it was designed so Indonesian with showing the beautiful scenery of some places in Indonesia trough the big screen.
